Quince - San Francisco, California

If you are prepared to skip out on a flight to Hawaii just so you can experience a night of fine wine, delicious dishes and decadent desserts & sweets, then don't hesitate to put in a reservation at two-star Michelin restaurant Quince located in San Francisco, California. This was a dinner that was well deserved and that I've looked forward to. I was excited in anticipation of what type of magic awaits.

The mastermind behind the menu is master chef and owner Michael Tusk who also owns Cotogna, which sits directly next door to Quince. Michael Tusk has earned several James Beard awards which makes this 9-course custom pre-fixed menu that more meaningful. Knowing the quality and care that the kitchen staff puts in is a genuine type of love, love only found where the sounds of blenders are in symphony with torches burning and knives clanking as it strikes the chopping board.

I must say, although quite expensive, the experience dining here is top notch, top shelf, top of the line. From the beautifully designed aesthetics of plating and tasty courses to an almost endless selection of wines. From the intimate ambiance to even the staff folding your napkin when you use the restroom, pushing in your chair when you get up to having your water cup never empty. I mean, the service here, besides the food is through the roof and quite exceptional.

And to end the 4 hour dinner, the manager was kind enough to give us a kitchen tour and meet Chef and Owner Michael Tusk. This was truly an honor as we did not expect that surprise. What a way to end the night. Along with the parting gifts, this was truly a dinner to remember.
